Easter Club 2019 Weeks 3 & 4

Week 3

In Woche 3 hörten wir den zweiten Teil der Geschichte, "Die Gesichter Christi". Eine Stelle ging um die Heilung des Bartimäus. Da waren alle Kinder auf einmal total begeistert, als ob Bartimäus irgendein Rock-Star wäre. Wir vermüten, dass unser Kollege in der Schule letztens auch die Geschichte im Religionsunterricht behandelt hat.: )  In Week 3, we finished the story called "The Faces of Easter" which culminates in Jesus' Passion and Resurrection. A part of the story involved Jesus' ministry and the story of Bartimaeus being healed. When I said Bartimaeus' name, there was an audible gasp from the kids and excitement, as if Bartimaeus were some sort of rock star. I have to think that my colleague at school had recently covered the story in religion class!

Das Ergründen nachher haben wir mit Gegenständen gemacht. Jedes Kind würde eingeladen einen Gegenstand im Raum auszusuchen, der etwas mehr von der Geschichte erzählen könnte. Die Kinder waren so begeistert von dieser Art von Ergründungsgespräch, dass wir 3 Runden gemacht haben!  We wondered together this time using objects from the room. Each child could find an object and place it next to a picture that might tell more of the story. The children found this particularly exciting and we ended up doing three rounds of wondering!

Es gab 2 neuen Stationen diese Woche. Bei der einer unten konnten die Kinder Skulpturen aus Ton und Naturmaterial gestalten. This week we added two new stations. The first one was clay sculptures with nature materials. 

Das andere neue Angebot ging darum ein Osterkollage aus Klopapier-Rohlingen zu gestalten. Die ursprüngliche Idee findet man hier.

Week 4

Unsere letzte Woche zusammen fing mit einer Auferstehungsgeschichte an, als die Emmaus-Jünger einen unerwarteten Besuch von Jesus bekamen. Es hat den Kindern gefallen, dass die Jünger so überrascht waren und dass Jesus mit ihnen Brot teilte. Week 4 began with the story of the two Emmaus disciples unexpectantly meeting Jesus after his resurrection. The children liked how the disciples were so surprised and that Jesus broke bread with them. 

Diese Woche dürften die Kinder Osterkerze gestalten. 

The new station this week was decorating Easter candles.

Hier ein Mädchen malt ein Osterbild, die sie und die 2 anderen Künstlerinnen nannten "Die seltsame Begegnung". 

Here a girl works on an Easter scene that she and the two other girls helping her called "The Unexpected Visit". 

Wir versuchen auch Aktivitäten anzubieten, die nicht mit Basteln oder Kunst zu tun haben, denn nicht alle Kinder mögen Kunstprojekten. Unten spielen zwei Kinder mit den Auserstehungs-Eier, wo sie mehr über die Passion und Auferstehung Christi durch Bilder und Gegenstände entdeckten. 

We always try to offer activities that are not art projects, because not all children like to do art. The Resurrection Eggs activity, in which the children explore the Passion & Resurrection through pictures and objects, continued to interest them. 

Es war eine sehr schöne Zeit mit den Kindern! Ich freue mich schon auf Advent!

It was a wonderful time with the kids! We're already looking forward to Advent!
