Easter Club 2019 Weeks 1 & 2

Die OsterAG läuft schon 9 Schuljahre! Melinda, meine Kollegin, und ich merken wie entspannt wir mit der Vorbereitung über die Jahre geworden sind. Mit Erfahrung wird alles leichter! It's Easter Club 2019! It's been 9 years since I started doing Easter clubs. Melinda, my co-teacher,  and I remarked this year how relaxed we've become and how much easier it all is after all these years of experience.

Bei den OsterAGs nutzen wir das "Godly-Play/ Gott im Spiel" Konzept für Kinderkirche und geistliche Begleitung, die den Kindern ermöglicht das Gottesbild selbst zu entdecken. Hier könnt ihr einen kurzen Film über das Konzept schauen und mehr darüber erfahren. In the Easter Clubs, we use the Godly Play/Gott im Spiel concept for spiritually mentoring that allows children to discover God for themselves. Week 1

Woche 1 fing mit einer Geschichte, "Jesus segnet die Kinder", an. Danach haben wir die Geschichte ergründet, in dem wir besprochen haben, was uns am besten gefällt, was das Wichtigste sein könnte, und wo wir vielleicht in der Geschichte sind. In the first week, we started with a story called "Jesus Blesses the Children", followed by a time of "Wondering" in which we talked about what we liked about the story, what is important, and whether or not it could tell something about our lives.

Nach dem Geschichtenkreis, dürften die Kinder sich frei bewegen zwischen unterschiedlichen Angeboten. Da konnten die Kinder weiter durch Spiel und Kreativität verarbeiten, was sie erlebt haben. After the story and wondering, we have a response time in which the children can think more about what they have experienced through play and creativity. The children can move freely between the different stations. 

Der Fokus-Tisch ist eine Art "lebendige Bibel" mit Geschichten aus den Alt- und Neutestamenten und der Kirchentradition. Alles steht den Kinder zur Verfügung. Our focus table is a sort of "living Bible" with stories from the Old and New Testaments and church tradition. The children can freely take the stories from the shelf and play with them.

Es gab auch eine Station von Holzostereiern mit christlichen Symbolen darauf. Die Kinder konnten dann ihre eigene Ostereier gestalten. At another table, the children found wooden Easter eggs with Christian symbols on them. They then had the opportunity to draw their own Easter eggs.

Die Auferstehungseier erzählen von der Passionswoche und der Auferstehung Jesu. Die Kinder müssen die kleine Gegenstände in den Eiern mit Bildern einordnen um die Geschichte erzählt zu bekommen. Es ist super für 1. Klässler, die noch nicht viel lesen können! Resurrection Eggs tell more about the Jesus' passion and resurrection. The children find small objects in numbered eggs that correspond with a numbered picture card. It's great for first graders who can't yet read a lot.

Auch konnten die Kinder Ostereier filzen. Diese Aktivität fördert Konzentration und die Kleinmotorik. The children could also felt styrofoam Easter eggs. This activity trains a lot of fine motor skills as well as requiring concentration.

Als letztes Angebot konnten die Kinder in Kleingruppen eine große Leinwand malen. Die Bilder werden danach in der Kirche aufgestellt. We also have several large canvases and asked the children to paint them in groups of 2-3. The paintings will be displayed in the church at Eastertide.

So viel Spiele und Gestaltung machen hungrig! Wir beenden unsere Zeit immer mit einem Fest und Segen! After response time, we come together again for a prayer, a feast and a blessing!

Week 2

Wir hörten in Woche 2 den ersten Teil einer Geschichte über das Leben Christi. Sie heisst "Die Gesichter Christi". In Week 2, we began Part 1 of a longer story about Christ's life called "The Faces of Easter". 

Es gab auch eine neue Station: Kresse in Eierschalen einsäen. We also added a new station: planting cress seeds in egg shells.
